Software Engineering Manager
Seattle, Washington

Our client is looking for an independent manager who is comfortable managing their team with different skill sets from their own and can communicate expectations clearly to all team members. You will also act as a leader for the technical roadmap for your team and communicate timeline, scope, and risks to partners and stakeholders, and lead the delivery of major initiatives on clear timelines. You identify areas of strategic technical debt, do the cost/benefit analysis for resolving this debt and communicate suggested timelines for prioritizing this to the management team.

What you will be doing:
•    Leading a team of developers simultaneously across multiple work streams
•    Adapting process and timeline to ensure that high-quality deliverables are produced
•    Ensuring your team is producing software that is high availability, monitorable and maintainable
•    Ensuring your team is utilizing the right skills to solve the right problems
•    Leading teams toward using best practices and participate in code reviews when necessary
•    Identifying and removing any roadblocks to success
•    Identifying areas of technical debt and complete the cost and benefit analysis in order to resolve the debt; communicate suggested timelines to the management team

What you bring:
•    2+ years’ experience in senior engineering 
•    2+ years’ experience as a people manager
•    Strong knowledge of the web platform and its technical groundworks
•    Ability to work comfortably across browser and server environments
•    Experience working in complex and large-scale production environments
