Process Improvement Consultant / Sr. Project Manager

ITAC is looking to hire an experienced and engaging self-starter to be a Process Improvement Consultant & Sr. Project Manager working with small to mid-sized manufacturers to improve their overall performance. ITAC (www.itac.nyc) is a consulting organization dedicated to helping NYC manufacturing companies grow and prosper.

As a Consultant & Manager you will sell, lead, and manage the delivery of appropriate continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives that allow the manufacturing clients to grow and prosper.

In addition to typical field staff responsibilities, the Consultant also manages the portfolio of ITAC’s product offerings, appropriately aligned with ITAC’s strategic goals (e.g., business strategy, marketing, etc.). This includes activities supporting annual revenue generation to meet the targets reasonably established by management, and also meet the impacts to satisfy funders’ and other stakeholder requirements.

** Travel within NYC is required. There is very limited travel outside of NYC.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Primary role is business development/sales in Process Improvement Initiatives as well as project management. This includes: 
    • Engaging and supporting marketing and sales activities to develop a client base for future actions by making calls and visits to manufacturers, attending local networking events, and developing proposals for paid services.
  • Negotiate and close deals by understanding, creating, and delivering solid value propositions to clients.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term continuous improvement and process improvement programs and solutions, specific to the clients’ needs.
  • In the role of “Trusted Advisor,” provide the client’s Senior Management with suggested strategic direction to ensure specific and appropriate initiatives are delivered to enhance the continuous improvement and innovation of the business processes.
  • Update client information databases for all client “touches”. Provide input for reporting as required.
  • Analyze and manages portfolio of program offerings that aligns with ITAC’s strategy. 
  • Collaborate with our network of specialists (e.g., certification experts) as required, to sell and oversee the delivery of client engagements.
  • Meet annual performance goals; record activities and provide timely reports.
  • Other projects/activities as required.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Education, or Quality and/or other related fields preferred. Master’s degree desirable. Experience may be substituted for field of study.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience including 3 years manufacturing experience in a technical position such as a Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production
  • Mandatory proficiency in LEAN manufacturing tools and capability to teach educational seminars and assist in implementation of the LEAN tools
  • Must have strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated successful team facilitation experience.
  • Strong presentation and “Front-of-the-Room” presence with demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Strong and effective strategic management skills are required, including long range planning, organizing, communicating, influencing, gathering, and using information, and motivating a team to achieve results.
  • Ability to use, and to teach others how to use, various analytical tools and techniques.
  • Previous knowledge/experience of Economic Development is highly desirable.
  • Hoshin and problem-solving experience highly desirable.
  • Experience with manufacturing industry equipment and regulations preferred.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred, including internal company consulting.
