Business Development Consultant & Sr. Project Manager

New York, New York

ITAC is looking to hire a driven, self-starter to be a Business Development Consultant & Sr. Project Manager working with small to mid-sized manufacturers to improve their overall performance. ITAC (www.itac.nyc) is a consulting organization dedicated to helping NYC manufacturing companies grow and prosper. 

You will be selling and overseeing the delivery of paid services ranging from business strategy to operational excellence, adoption of new technologies, marketing, tax credits, workforce development and more. This involves understanding the manufacturer's  business, their short and long-term goals, and acting as their advisor and partner.

The person will be independent and energetic with the passion and skills to build a business, not just work for one. Eager to hit the ground running and make an impact on local manufacturing businesses by selling and overseeing the delivery of expert services. 

** Travel within NYC is required. There is very limited travel outside of NYC.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and understand issues that current and prospective clients are facing, and sell them individually-tailored solutions, leveraging ITAC’s network of specialists who deliver the services.

  • Primary role is business development/sales as well as project management.  This includes:

    • Making calls and visits to manufacturers, attending local networking events, and developing proposals for paid services.

    • Negotiating and closing deals by understanding, creating, and delivering solid value propositions to clients.

    • Conducting sufficient marketing and sales activity to ensure full pipeline of projects (significant number of in-person visits per month)

    • Collaborating with our network of specialists (e.g., ISO experts) as required, to sell and oversee the delivery of client engagements.

  • Meet annual performance goals; record activities and provide timely reports.

  • Other projects/activities as required.
     

Educational/Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering or related discipline preferred. 

  • Prior relevant sales and project management experience a must. 

  • Manufacturing, or management consulting experience highly desirable. 

  • Quality management systems – or other service delivery area – experience a big plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to “close” sales.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to independently organize and manage multiple clients and tasks to ensure timely completion; strong follow-up and prioritization skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to cultivate, develop and maintain relationships with staff members, existing and prospective clients, and the wider business community.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and multiple projects.

  • Self-awareness, willingness to constantly learn, attention to detail, goal-orientation, and high-quality outputs are a must.
