Insynq is currently in need of a highly motivated, results-oriented individual who can join the technical team as a Tier II Systems Engineer. This position requires someone whose mind and skills are strong, and someone with a commitment to continuous learning and experimentation to keep them that way. The System Engineer II, under general supervision, will provide application maintenance and support to organizations and companies to minimize service disruption and facilitate operations. They investigate problems with platform infrastructure (compute, storage and network), software applications, diagnosing root causes, and on fixing them. Their job entails the development, integration, and configuration of database infrastructure and business applications used across the organization and ensuring that all applications comply with relevant standards and regulations. 
System Engineers are also responsible for identifying known errors and problem trends and for finding permanent solutions. They frequently help with training of new staff and provide expert advice and support to departments across the organization. They are also tasked with defining application support standards and processes and writing the related documentation. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities. Multi-tasking and time management is a must as work will be conducted in an environment that includes 1000’s of VM across multiple data centers and domains.
As a System Engineer II, you’ll be responsible for the following:
  • Contribute to internal infrastructure projects during the non-busy season, including automation of DevOps tasks, system hardware upgrades, and consolidation of obsolete servers
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting application inoperability
  • Effectively manage multiple incoming tasks and shifting priorities 
  • Working with hardware and software vendors to make sure the product is compatible with ISVs and application publishers.
  • Coordinate with vendors’ tech teams to ensure the success of the software
  • Create custom solutions with client applications
  • Maintain a high closure rate of incoming tickets
  • Minimum Qualifications: (must have for consideration)
    The successful candidate will be a tenacious, ambitious, self-starter with a passion for defining a scalable, extensible cloud service / platform and will serve as a strong advocate for our customers.  Ideal candidates have the following qualifications:  
  • An Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a technical capacity, such as a support engineer or systems engineer
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the following:
    • Operating Systems: Microsoft/Mac OS X/Linux
    • Desktop programs: Microsoft Office Suite, Email
    • Ticketing systems
    • Virtualization and remote desktops
  • StorageSpaces, etc.
  • Familiarity with Hyper-V, VMM, Powershell
  • Windows O/S – 2008 R2 and Up experience required
  • Desired Qualifications: (additional qualifications found in best candidates)
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • Experience working with backup/replication technologies
  • Design, Data Migration, Configuration and Management of AWS, Azure, GCE public cloud environments
  • Security certifications
  • Scripting languages: Perl, Python, Ansible
  • MCSE, CCNA, Network+, CEH, or CCP-V Certification
  • Operational knowledge of applications such as QuickBooks, ACT, Sage and MS Office 
  • A familiarity with financial software
  • Previous experience working with Active Directory, MS SQL, MS Exchange or Group Policies
  • Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies, such as Converged Infrastructures,
